Event Tickets for 2010 Canadian Championships on sale Tuesday!

Single event session tickets for the 2010 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships in London, Ontario, January 14-17, 2010 go on sale Tuesday, November 10 at 10am EST.

Skate Canada is pleased to offer its members 10% off the price of tickets to the Saturday, January 16 day session. Our wonderful athletes need your in-person cheering and support as they face the toughest challenge of their careers – qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Games! Don’t miss this opportunity to help prepare our pair teams and women for Vancouver with a full house send off. Type in your password “Go For Gold” when purchasing on line at www.johnlabattcentre.com to take advantage of this offer.  

Regular priced tickets range from $10 - $45, plus surcharges and can be purchased online at www.johnlabattcentre.com, by phone at 1.866.455.2849 or in person at the John Labatt Centre box office. Children 12 years and under can also take advantage of special pricing for the Saturday day session tickets where they are $10 off the regular price.

All-Event Ticket Packages are still available for sale starting at $125, plus surcharges.  Tickets for the 2010 BMO Skate Canada Junior Nationals, featuring Novice and Junior skaters competing at Western Fair Sport Centre, are also on sale for $20 plus surcharges through the John Labatt Centre.

Volunteers for Skate Canada Canadians
All people who would like to do volunteer work for the Skate Canada Canadians at the John Labatt Center January 14 to 17, 2010 are required to register with Skate Canada. This can be done in one of three ways. You can go online at http://members.skatecanada.ca/memberreg/logon.cfm. You can use your skater's Skate Canada number as the password. You can also call Kate McNeil at 1 888 747 2372 x 2564 or send an email to
kmcneil@skatecanada.ca. Once you have been registered, your name will be passed to the organizing committee who will contact you regarding volunteer assignments. Skaters who wish to volunteer to be flower retrievers must be at least twelve years old and must also register with Skate Canada. Skaters who wish to assist at the medal presentations must be at least 16 years old and must have their senior bronze level.

Flower Retreivers and Cermonies Participants

Reminder to sign up at the Skate Canada website.   The following criteria recommended from Skate Canada.......
Age and skating level restrictions are in place for the following positions:
Ÿ
Flower Retrievers must be 12 years of age or older and have passed Sr.
Ÿ
Bronze or higher level tests. Flower retriever applicants are subject to try outs.
Ÿ
Ceremonies participants must be 16 years of age or older and passed Sr.
Ÿ
Bronze or higher level tests.

Applicants from the HOME Region will be given priority.      

We now offer “Half a Season” package on the Pre-Canskate and Canskate Programs.

Dorchester Skating Coach Selected as one of the Top CanSkate Coaches in Canada

Lynne Finlay of Dorchester is one of seven CanSkate coaches who received the title “Best of the Best”. As a reward, Lynne received an expense paid trip to Regina this past weekend to attend the 2008 Skate Canada ACGM and National Coaches’ Conference.
